What is the internet? KS1 PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 2, however, the contents may also suit younger students in KS2 (Year 3). In this lesson, the students will learn about the evolution of the internet. We will time travel back to 1992 and reflect on how the internet plays a role in our everyday lives. The lesson includes a starter activity, a video clip with questions, a codebreaking task, a main activity and a plenary. Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets. Strengths and interests KS1 PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 1, however, the activities are also suitable for use in Year 2, or even younger students in KS2 (Year 3). In this lesson, the children will learn about personal strengths, interests, and the importance of celebrating the things that make us all unique. The lesson includes a copy of Trilby Gizard, You’re a Terrible Lizard, a story of a young lizard’s journey to explore his individuality. The students will reflect on a set of teacher led comprehension questions, before completing activities linked to the text. Safer Internet Day 2023 - Life Online A 1-2-hour, all new PSHE online safety lesson suitable for KS2, or possibly younger students in KS3 (Year 7). The topic for this year is ‘Life Online’, so the lesson covers a variety of issues, including cyber-bullying, online-scams, identity theft and age-appropriate content. The students will identify the issues explore the best safety rules to use as well as why they need to use them. This is all new content (2023) and all editable. NEW 2 HOUR PSHE lesson all about the meaning of equity and equality, the differences between the two concepts and how each of them is used to promote fairness in society. Throughout the lesson students will evaluate the pros and cons of both of these ideas (equality of opportunity vs using equity to reach equality of outcome). A 40 minute employability skills lesson which was created for LIKE2BE - an online networking platform which helps to raise student aspirations by connecting educators & students with employers and professionals for real world career guidance. This is the ninth of 12 sessions which will cover all aspects of employability skills, as well as serve as a step-by-step guide for schools and students that are signed up to the LikeToBe website. This ninth session is all about the importance of literacy and numeracy skills, how we can acquire them and how we can demonstrate our proficiency in these to employers. All of these resources are three way differentiated, engaging and challenging. They are best suited to KS4 or KS5 students and each lasts 40 minutes.
